Lapine Fitness Story

Built for Real Life, Born in a Really Weird Time
Paul opened Lapine Fitness Studio in October 2020 — back when gyms were closed, everyone was eating outside, and no one really knew what came next.
At the time, Paul was running outdoor workouts in the park, which had started to feel like a temporary fix that had run its course. He needed a safe, focused space to train his clients — and as someone newly sober, he also needed something positive to pour his energy into.
So he found a 192-square-foot studio and started there — one client at a time, balancing it all while still working full-time as a teacher.
The Studio Grew, but the Mission Stayed the Same
From that tiny space, Lapine Fitness grew into something bigger — a welcoming studio built around personalized training, community, and long-term health.
We never wanted to be just another gym. We wanted to build something that felt personal. Real. Supportive. Something that actually worked for busy people trying to take care of themselves in the middle of real life.
Today, Lapine Fitness is the go-to spot for busy professionals who want real results without the noise.
Most of our members are in their 30s and 40s, juggling careers, relationships, and everything else life throws at them. They’ve tried other things — big-box gyms that felt intimidating, trendy group classes where they were another face in the crowd, apps they forget to open — and realized they want something more personal, more structured, and more sustainable. They’ve spent years starting and stopping, never quite finding something that sticks. Progress has felt inconsistent at best — and they’re tired of feeling like they’re always back at square one.
They come to us to get stronger, move better, and stay consistent. Some are training for big life moments — a wedding, a baby, a demanding job promotion. Others just want to feel good in their bodies again, to feel confident, capable, and like they’re actually taking care of themselves. Many are navigating old injuries or chronic aches, and want to train in a way that’s smart, safe, and actually works. Most of our members are thinking about the future — about aging well, staying mobile, and building a foundation of health they can carry with them for decades.
We help them do that through thoughtful coaching, personalized programming, and a small, welcoming space that feels nothing like the gyms they’ve tried to avoid. There’s no intimidation here. No yelling. No pressure to perform. Just coaches who know your name, workouts that make sense for your body, and a community of people who actually get it.
Strength, consistency, and confidence — that’s what we’re here to build.
Because at the end of the day, fitness should make your life better — not more complicated.
Meet The Team
Paul Lapine - Owner/operator ACE, RKC, SFL, DSPCC, FRC
Sports and fitness have always been a big part of Paul’s life and helped him with his mental health. As an adolescent Paul competed in amateur boxing and into adulthood he ultra marathon running and powerlifting.
Paul has been training folks for close to a decade. As a coach he strongly believes in meeting people where they are at and doesn’t believe fitness can be a one size fits all approach. The people he serves have different goals, injuries, life stress, body types etc. Paul learns as much as he can about the people he has the privilege to train, builds a relationship with them and find a style of fitness that fits their life.

Morgan Williams
Morgan is a Baltimore-born, Old Bay enthusiast and a current Brooklyn resident. An athlete and an actor, she first found her love for the stage and athleticism doing dance. (The Nutcracker is still her favorite ballet). 🩰
While she doesn’t formally dance anymore, clear the floor if any ol’ school Usher song comes on. She will break it down. If she’s not moving to 90s/early 2000s R&B, she’s either running or strength training to keep active. And she hopes she can spread her love of movement and fitness at LFS!
Gabriel Dumont-Roldan
Gabe is a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer from Brooklyn. Gabe studied biology at UAlbany, where he began strength training recreationally with some friends. He then went on to work as an exercise technician at a physical therapy clinic. His time there taught him about the health benefits of exercise, and he was inspired to acquire his CPT in order to help people meet their fitness goals efficiently and safely.
In his free time, he enjoys taking long walks with his dog, Ferrous, talking about animals (birds, snakes, and lizards are some of his faves), and finding new places to eat
